New Vault Types (including a free for everybody option!)
This version of Si Forte introduces two new vault types (and labeled our existing vault type). This is a really exciting update because 1 every body can now use Si Forte with the Spark Vault type and 2 we have addressed feedback that was received about Si Forte also catering for "time capsule" style vaults.
I have run through a few use cases and scenarios for you below!
Spark Vault
A temporary vault that automatically deactivates after 48 hours that is free for all users. Perfect for short-term situations like medical procedures or first dates where you need quick, temporary protection.
- Share information with your family if by chance... you are inactive are meeting a date for the first time
- Share information with your family if by chance... you are inactive after a medical procedure or operation
Persistent Vault
Your secure digital safe that remains locked until triggered by activity checks (or manually). Perfect for long-term protection of important information that should be shared with loved ones if you become inactive.
- Share information with your partners or lawyer if by chance... you are inactive on a business trip
- Share information with your family if by chance... you are inactive on a holiday
Time Capsule
A one-time purchase vault that unlocks at your chosen future date. Perfect for sending messages to your future self or loved ones on special occasions, with no time limitations.
- Share information with your son or daughter on their 21st birthday
- Share information with yourself after ten years
Improved Vault Creation and Management
We also went back to the drawing board on how vaults are created and managed. While the previous implementation was relatively easy, for some users it was hard to understand the process in full. The new "vault wizard" creations simple to understand functional steps that are catered for to the differing vault types that we have introduced.
New Asset Types for Crypto and SSH Keys
We have also added specific asset types for SSH and Crypto Keys. They behave similar to passwords in that content are not immediately available to the end user, instead they are loaded as required. We also avoid previewing passwords and keys on the frontend, instead the user can copy the passwords and keys to your local clipboard as needed.
